1) Do not harm the Bears in any way, shape, or form. This is immediate exile and will result in criminal charges.
2) Absolutely no cursing for any reason. It is pointless and will not be tolerated.
3) Do not get involved in conflicts between Bear members. If there is a problem, take it to an elder. Unless it is an emergency, never report to the justice board before an elder. 99% of the problems can be worked out in a reasonable and orderly manner.
4) Do not insult or provoke your kindred. It is alright to joke around, but do not taunt people for things such as not wanting to fight in the arena. What it comes down to is, if someone says "stop"... stop!
5) Avoid using suggestive themes when in the clan hall, or anywhere else for that matter. Many of our members are young and this is a sure fire way to offend someone. If for some reason you feel the conversation is absolutely necessary, keep it to whispers. Most people don't want to hear it and you will be punished.
6) No guest is allowed into the hall without the specific ok of an elder (except in the below cases), they must also follow the bear laws, BUT BE WARNED IF YOUR GUEST BREAKS A BEAR LAW I WILL TREAT IT AS IF YOUR CHARACTER BROKE THE LAW so ensure your guest knows and understands all the bear laws. Your guest will also be required to keep your name in their profile for easy identification.
6 a). Spouse/fiance/blood siblings have sort of a temporary pass, and may be in the hall with you without having to always ask permission (though this is at my discretion). BUT BE WARNED IF YOUR SPOUSE BREAKS A BEAR LAW I WILL TREAT IT AS IF YOUR CHARACTER BROKE THE LAW, so ensure they understand and follow the bear laws while they're in the hall.
6 b). This isn't a law so much as a safety measure, but I'll include it anyway. Keep *group off* while in the hall. Some rooms are approachable. This way no one can approach you that you do not know. If this becomes a problem more than once, some measures will be taken. Note: Main Hall cannot be approached or Summoned into.
7) Do not take anything from the Hall floors.
Someone might have placed items down for decorations or for personal use. We are Bears and we do not steal. Ask on Clan chat before picking up / read the Bear board for information if any of it is allowed to be picked up. The only area where you may take an item from the floor, is the dropzone. This area is marked by scrolls.
8) Do not use the Call of the Wild spell, or any other spell that summons a creature in the clan hall. Do not leave horses or any other animals unattended in the hall. There have been instances in the past where this led to hurting our ancestral bears.
9) If you have a problem with another clan member, do not post it on the board. Always take your problems directly to an elder. We will post about it if we feel the entire clan needs to know.
10) It is every Bear member's responsibility to read the Bear board. If something like a new law is posted and you do not know about it because you didn't read the board you will still be held 100% responsible.
11) Bear Clan's Crafting Rooms and Npc's: Only bear members may use our crafting facilities (except in the below listed cases)
11 a) A bear member is allowed to use Mrs Snuff, Lil Snuff or Hook on an alternate character, so long as they tell an Elder they will be doing so and that they put the name of their bear character into their profile (just while crafting, not forever). This will ease confusion; if you don't want Bear members knowing that you have another character or who that character is, I'm sorry but this is the Law..
11 b) A wife or husband of a bear member may craft, so long as their spouse is present in the room with them. This will enable you husband wife teams to continue making armors etc or crafting each other's raw goods.
12) Active Bears may buy items from the clan bank, using the current merchant price. Your ranking discount applies to your Bear character *only*, so if you'd like to purchase an item for an alternate character, you may do so with no discount from the merchant price. Craftable items are not for sale. (These are used for Crafting Days).
13) Any Bear receiving a jail brand for any crime has 2 days (from the date of the post on the Scum Board) to remove the branded character from the clan before they are exiled. As much as we love every single one of you, and as much as we know everyone makes mistakes, we do not allow people with jail brands into the clan. The return of any member leaving / being removed for this rule is solely at the discretion of the Primogen and Council.
14) Any Bear who leaves the clan for any reason then wishes to return must first request permission in writing from the Primogen.
15) Any Bear wishing to have an Alternate Character added to the clan must submit an application through the website, and may simply put "Alternate Character of <Bear Member's Name>" as the Sponsor. You must be done with any and all Cub Trials before you may request this.
16) Any Bear caught Auto-Crafting, or Auto-Cutting using our facilities will be exiled, clan scummed, and will quite possiblily face jail time. Understand also that while an Archon or Judge may have to catch you in the act of doing this to take action, as a clan we have no such restrictions as far as our membership, and will not hesitate to deal with anyone whom we feel we have reasonable proof. We do this not to hurt anyone, but simply to protect our members and what we have earned the right to have as a clan. Keep in mind, the archons will and do police our crafting facilities... If THEY catch someone, we (the clan) can loose our crafting facilities. This law carries the highest priority, and will be enforced.
Most of these laws are either common sense, or rules that were established long ago. Make sure you know them. People who disobey them will be punished. More will be added if needed, and if you have a suggestion, I'm all ears. If you see someone break one of these laws, it is your duty to report it to myself or one of the Clan Elders. These are easy rules to follow and all Clan members are expected to do so.
